Terms of Use
Last updated: November 4, 2026. The plain-language terms for using clipcaptioner.com.
The service
ClipCaptioner is a free, browser-based video editor. Editing and rendering happen on your own device. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and availability may change as the product develops.
Your content
Your videos never leave your device when you use the editor, and we claim no rights over them. You are responsible for having the right to edit and publish any material you work with, including music, footage and images owned by others.
Acceptable use
- Don't use ClipCaptioner to create content that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights.
- Don't attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service or its hosting.
- Don't misrepresent exported videos as something they are not in ways that break the law.
Accounts
Accounts are arriving in a later release. Until then, the sign-in page is optional and informational; projects are stored only on your device, and clearing your browser data removes them. When accounts launch, they will remain optional — editing and exporting will never require one.
Advertising
The free editor is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Availability and changes
Features may be added, changed or removed as the product develops; anything not yet available is labelled as such on the site. We may update these terms from time to time — the current version will always be posted on this page with its date.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClipCaptioner is not liable for lost files, lost projects stored on your device, or damages arising from use of the service. Keep your own copies of important videos and caption files.
